Travelling With Pets

If you have a pet, you know how hard it can be to go away on holiday without bringing him with you. You may feel like a holiday just would not be complete without your dog or cat accompanying you. But is it possible to fly your beloved pet out with you and if so how much will it cost you? Since the introduction of the pet travel scheme, bringing your animal on holiday with you has become so much easier.

There are many airlines that adhere to the pet travel scheme, so doing a little bit of research will more than likely allow you to visit your dream destination with your pet. The scheme allows dogs, cats and ferrets to readily travel, as well as rabbits, fish, birds and various rodents. If you are planning a holiday with your pet, you will typically want to get everything organised several months before your holiday. The animal will be able to travel back into the UK without the six month quarantine period after having visited certain countries abroad.

To get your pet set up under the pet travel scheme, he will need to be outfitted with a microchip, as well as undergo rabies vaccination and blood tested.
